It's Turkey Trot Time!

5 November 2011

It's Turkey Trot Time!

This year we are confident that our number of participants will top 2,000 runners and walkers, making this the biggest (and best!) local race of the year!

All these folks have figured out that they can join us in the morning, take a little run for a good cause and maybe win one of our hundreds of raffle prizes to take back home for the family!  We promise to have you out of here by 11:00 a.m. - and what important stuff did you have planned before 11?  Exactly what we thought.

The best part is, while you are hanging out with us, drinking the World's Greatest Coffe (illy from Italy - it's a fact, look it up!) and eating fresh baked croissants & fruit and listening to our friend Phillip spin some great tunes, and winning tons of raffle prizes... the best part is you will be doing a lot of good for a very worthy cause.  The Williamsburg Area Meals on Wheels delivers over 25,000 meals a year, with all volunteer drivers and the support of nice folks like you.  Our race has succeeded in raising thousands of dollars to feed folks that are unable to leave their homes and get a good meal - what's better than that on Thanksgiving Day?

This year it's even more fun than usual, as we will be taking off down Duke of Gloucester Street, running around the Colonial Capital and The Governor's Mansion before heading off through downtown Williamsburg.  We want you to try to imagine something better than that... go on, try!  Wait a minute, we meant a better RUN than that!  For goodness sakes - some people!!

Oh, and the folks at Active.com just incluced our race as one of the Top 10 Thanksgiving Day races in America!

Anyway, here's the recap:

  1. Do something good for a lot of folks who will be very grateful
  2. Eat great croissants & drink great coffee
  3. Run one of the prettiest courses in America
  4. Win great prizes
  5. Stay out from underfoot as dinner gets ready
